Patchwork is our distinctive approach to upcycled kimono, joining different kimono fabrics to create an entirely new textile language. Rather than preserving each fabric as a single surface, contrasting materials are intentionally brought together, allowing their colors, textures, weight and light response to interact.
Each textile has its own structure, tension, drape and tactile character. Finding the right combination is closer to material engineering: when two seemingly unrelated fabrics achieve harmony, their individual qualities can amplify one another and produce a presence impossible to experience in a single kimono textile.
This is a contemporary form of traditional textile composition, transforming historical silk into a new material language where heritage is not preserved unchanged, but actively recomposed.
