Production Information
Every Mother Japan product is one-of-a-kind, reconstructed from vintage Japanese kimono textiles. All stages of our production process, from material sourcing to final inspection, are carried out in Japan by Japanese professionals.
Every product ships with a certificate of authenticity issued by Mother Japan. The certificate bears the signatures of the designer, pattern maker and tailor responsible for that piece.
Materials & Sourcing
All materials utilize repurposed Japanese kimono textiles of historical and cultural value. The condition, pattern and surface details of each textile are assessed before reconstruction.
Production Process
Every product undergoes a 5-step manufacturing process entirely within Japan. No sewing or production is outsourced overseas.
